It's amazing to me that our Tyler has turned SIX!
This T-shirt says Cowboy's Of Faith, and I'll tell you, that is definately Tyler! This child has the faith that most adults wish they had. When he prays it is sincere. It's a conversation with God that is serious and heartfelt. For him, God is not a concept, He's a person. On more than one occasion Tyler has brought tears to my eyes when he's praying.
The kids get to pick out their birthday party theme and Tyler picked 'Cowboy's'. A couple of weeks ago I asked him what he wanted me to buy him for his birthday and he said, 'Real cowboy boots!'. So last night after work, we went to the western store and got him the real deal.
He tried these on first, tried on two more pair and went back to these. Blue is his favorite color, so I think that played into the decision. Afterwards we walked around the store and looked at other things, such as a pair of boots with alligator tail on them .... after we picked them up and looked at them, the store clerk told us those boots were $900!!!!!! Nope, that's not a mistake and I didn't miss a decimal point. I can't believe they have them just sitting out for people to pick up and touch! I had a figure in mind for Tyler's boots and the ones he picked out were only $5 over my figure, and trust me, they were nowhere's near the price of the alligator ones!!!!
After the boot store we went to Cracker Barrell, which was his choice and for dessert he picked out a package of candy corn, which he brought home to share with his siblings. He did not have to share those with me, as candy corn is something I Do Not Like.
While we were at Cracker Barrell I saw this and had to get it for me:
I'm still processing the whole apple tree / orange tree thing (see previous post if this sentence doesn't make sense to you). I was going to write more about that .... but today is a Tyler day and my thoughts on that can wait.
So today was his party. There were a bunch of kids here, parents, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents ... and we all had fun.
Christina bought cowboy hats, turned them upside down, lined them with the bandana's and filled them with candy and treats and take home fun things. Then the kids got to make their own trail mix by choosing out of a variety of things set up to choose from 
There was a couple kinds of cereal, pretzels, dried bananas, dried apples, sunflower seeds, peanuts, coconut, m&m's, raisins, marshmallows and I know I'm not listing them all. They each filled a pint size canning jar, put their lid on, a label, and shook it up. Cute idea and the kids all had fun doing it too. Christina is very creative!!!!
Happy Birthday Tyler! You are my most favorite six year old and your Grammy loves you!!!
